How does a SquareTrade plan work?

on-site repairWe’ll provide free shipping to and from our service center. For large items, once approved you’ll be contacted the next business day to schedule on-site repairs.

Available Plan Options

Standard Protection

SquareTrade Warranty protects your purchases from mechanical and electrical failures during normal use.

  • 100% parts and labor coverage – with no deductibles.
  • Item repairs, or the full item price paid back to you if SquareTrade can’t fix it.
  • Covers new, refurbished and used items – even if there’s no USA manufacturer’s warranty on your item.
  • Service plan must be bought within 30 days of item purchase.
  • If your SquareTrade Warranty covers jewelry, the following terms apply: Your jewelry is covered for failures caused by defects in material and/or workmanship. Loss, theft, lost center stones, resizing and maintenance are not covered. Coverage is available for lost side stones up to .25 carats where the loss is a result of a defect in the jewelry.

Five-Day Service Guarantee:

SquareTrade will reimburse the full item price or fix your item and ship it back within five business days of receiving it at the depot, or your care plan is free.

For large items with in-home service, a local technician will contact you to schedule service within five business days of claim approval (since in-home service is dependent on the customer’s schedule, repair times are not guaranteed within five days).

Standard + Accidents

SquareTrade Warranty + Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) covers your purchases against both accidents and normal malfunctions.

  • Item repairs, or the full item price paid back to you if SquareTrade can’t fix it.
  • Examples of coverage include: drops, spills and other accidents during use, including liquid damage from immersion.
  • Protection from failures caused by accidents from handling (ADH), as well as normal mechanical and electrical failures.
  • 2 to 3 years of coverage, starting at the item purchase date.
  • Service plan must be bought within 30 days of item purchase.
  • If your SquareTrade Warranty covers jewelry, the following terms apply: Your jewelry is covered for failures caused by defects in material and/or workmanship.
